Planning to transfer to a four-year college? You can get started on completing your General Education (GE) Requirements as well as coursework for your major while you're at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿C. Making an Education Plan will help you make sure that the courses you are taking fulfill the GE and major requirements at the school you plan on to attend.

A good place to start when making an education plan for transfer is our Articulation Agreements. We have articulation agreements with CSUs, UCs and independent colleges and universities. These agreements show which ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿C courses fulfill general education and lower-division major requirements at the school to which you plan to transfer.

CSUs and UCs

If you are planning to transfer to a California State University campus or a University of California campus, you will need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Complete Major Requirements
    The CSUs accept Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADTs) to make the transfer process streamlined. Please visit ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿C's ADT page to learn more about these programs. You may also check ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿C's comprehensive list of majors. Other tools, such as assist.org may also provide additional insights into programs and/or other institutions, such as the UCs.
  • Complete Your General Education Requirements
    Follow the Cal-GETC, the singular transfer pathway to the UCs, CSUs, and many private institutions. If you started at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿C Summer 2025 or before, see an Academic Counselor to determine if you have rights to one or more of the former GE patterns. 

  • Complete 60 transferrable units
