What is a Medical Assistant?
A Medical Assistant is a nationally recognized multi-skilled professional who assists the physician in the medical office, clinic, or in a variety of other health care settings. As a medical assistant you will:
- assist in caring for the sick and injured
- perform phlebotomy
- assist with pediatric exams
- perform electrocardiograms
- screen vision
- run the lab tests
- assist with minor surgery
- make appointments and screen calls
- transcribe reports
- instruct the patient as advised by the physician
- assist with examinations
- complete the insurance claims
- administer medication, upon order of the physician
- operate the computer
- weigh the patient
- sterilize supplies
Get Started
The application filing period is April 18 - July 18th for fall semester enrollment, and September 15 - October 31 for Spring enrollment. Applications are only available during the application period.
