Older Adults
Older Adult courses are designed to address the educational needs and personal interests of older adults (50 years and older), focusing on topics that promote independence, advocacy, community engagement, self-maintenance, personal growth, physical and cognitive health, career development, and economic self-sufficiency. Credentialed instructors provide instruction in an array of classes which include sewing techniques, art, music appreciation, discussion groups, and life review/journaling.

Designed for older adult students with all levels of sewing abilities. Emphasis on the development and use of good sewing techniques to build confidence for task completion, craft-related problem-solving skills, including appropriate application of some speed-sewing techniques, the use of commercial patterns, proper fit, and independent creation of patterns for personal projects to support social/personal.
